Keurig coffee brewers, One Tool in Your Open House Toolbox
Mark Pickens

As a realtor, you no doubt spend a good portion of your time sitting in open houses. There are certain aspects that go into holding an open house that may seem old hat; but perhaps you have heard these tips because they really do play a part in how you are perceived in the mind of those who visit your open house.

One of the main tips Realtors hear about their open houses is that the smells of home play an emotional role in creating a certain feeling inside the home you are selling. You may bring certain treats with you to your open houses; such as crackers and cheese or store bought cookies. While these things are nice, they lack the punch that you are really after.

To catch the attention of potential buyers (or sellers) that may come through your open house, you need to go the extra mile and set up an ultra-inviting home setting. This includes bringing in the typical smells of home that we all know and love; smells that amount to comfort on an emotional level.

This doesn't have to be difficult, and with the invention of the Keurig coffee brewers, your job is that much easier. This new way of making coffee is accomplished with Kcups. K cups are pre-measured, pre-filled cups of coffee grounds that you place right into the Keurig brewer to make single cups of coffee. Here's why Kcups are so perfect for the open house: they provide fresh, piping hot coffee in just seconds.

For the busy Realtor, this pays off in a big way. With a Keurig brewer and handy K cups, you do not find yourself in a place of lugging around a cumbersome coffee maker, or using the homeowner's coffee maker (not recommended). All you have to do is get yourself some 8 ounce paper cups, a few different flavors of creamer and a nice variety of Kcups to brew caffeinated or decaffeinated coffees. Your open house will be filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and guests will be delighted at the innovated provisions you have made.

One more plus to the Keurig system for your open houses is that you are not limited to brewing coffee, as you would be with a coffee maker. With Keurig, K cups come in herbal tea flavors, green teas, and even cocoa. With this sort of variety, you will have something to offer everyone who comes through your properties.

For the ultimate treat, and the ultimate cozy home feel in your open houses, bake some cookies right on the spot. Instead of baking a whole batch right at the beginning of your open house, try baking a half dozen consisting of two or three different types of cookie at the beginning and also half-way through the time you will hold the house open. This way you have fresh cookies the whole way through your open house, and a yummy smell permeating the senses of those walking through.
